Fierce, heated, and fashion-indulgent, the brand-new season of Asia’s Next Top Model premieres on 8 January 2014 on the Star World channel, packing a punch and demanding stringent body control and unwavering passion in a way that feels more glamorous than ever before.

With a multi-million-dollar budget in play, there is certainly much to look forward to.

Like the inaugural edition of the model competition in 2012, which was held in Singapore, the follow-up season will be filmed across some of the most picturesque and breathtaking locations in Malaysia. These include the cosmopolitan city of Kuala Lumpur, as well as the rich and vibrant cultural landscapes of Malacca, Pangkor, Penang, Terengganu, Sabah, and Sarawak.

“The first season of Asia’s Next Top Model saw a phenomenal wave of fans across the region which spurred us to bring back a bigger and bolder Season 2. We have combed Asia for the most promising models and challenged them with innovative and creative photo shoots that are lacquered in style and infused with raw emotions. It is a series that exudes powerful glamour and high fashion, and graced with famous international celebrities and icons in the fashion world. We are extremely excited about Asia’s Next Top Model Season 2 and can’t wait to share it with everyone when it premieres on Star World.”

– Eddy Tan, Vice President of Original Productions – Entertainment at FOX International Channels

For the first time, the league of contestants is also larger than before. This year’s edition will feature 16 models from 12 countries across Asia, including Singapore, Japan, Thailand, and Hong Kong, as they compete for the title through a series of challenges in every episode, from commercials to photo shoots and more.

Certainly no easy feat, these challenges will test the girls’ beauty, brains, brawn and, we might add, their stamina and perseverance, while they strive to remain glitzy and poised. Each contestant must showcase her skills, survive eliminations, and rise to the top before a strict panel of judges.

With their extensive experience in the fashion industry, the judging panel: returning host and head judge Nadya Hutagalung, model mentor Joey Mead King, resident photographer Mike Rosenthal, and movement coach Adam Williams, will push the contestants to the very limits of their modelling abilities across creative and innovative disciplines.

To further raise the stakes, the judges will be joined by a star-studded lineup of guest celebrities from both the fashion and entertainment worlds. These include renowned high-fashion shoe designer Jimmy Choo, Hong Kong-born American singer-songwriter Coco Lee, Kardashian beauty guru Rob Scheppy, and Australia’s premier couturier Alex Perry. Swedish pop duo Icona Pop will also make an appearance, offering their advice to the aspiring models.

Of course, the winner of Asia’s Next Top Model Season 2 will walk away with a brand-new Subaru XV. She will become the 2014 Face of TRESemmé in Southeast Asia, appear on the cover and in the fashion spreads of Harper’s Bazaar Singapore and Harper’s Bazaar Malaysia, receive a cash prize, and, most importantly, secure a three-month modelling contract with leading international agency Storm Model Management.

With such a strong lineup in place, we simply can’t wait to catch the first episode of Asia’s Next Top Model Season 2. Who will be your favourite? Who will emerge victorious? And ultimately, who will win? We have no idea—but may the odds be ever in your favour.

Find out when Asia’s Next Top Model Season 2 premieres at 9:40 PM HKT/SGT on 8 January 2014 on Star World (SingTel mio TV Ch 301, StarHub TV Ch 501).
